OCTOBER SKY 2007
Welcome to the 9th October Sky Fest.  The weather was wonderful, high 80s.  This was the biggest crowd to desend on Coalwood yet.  People from all over the US and England.  There were over 200 kids shooting rockets at the Cape.  It is just to amazing to describe.  I will start out with some shots from Thursday night with the wonderful teachers from Minn. This  marked their 4th year traveling to Coalwood. This group of teachers had a few extra surprises.  Steve Date showed them a few film clips of his film in progress on Coalwood.   Alan "Cathead" Johnson, and part of his band "South 52", entertained us with songs he had written, followed by my presentation on the History of Coalwood.
(No pop quiz was given)
Friday was the day to get everything set up for Saturday morning.

You have to take time to meet and talk to your friends.
Dinner Friday at the church. Home grown Coalwood cooking, hmmmmm
Bill Bolt was celebrating his 39th birthday!
And everyone was waiting on the space shuttle to fly over Coalwood.
At 8:18 the International Space Shuttle zoomed across the clear Coalwood sky and for a brief few seconds we were all back in 1950's.
