Operation Santa Clause - 2006
Another great year. The weather was nice and the kids were excited. It is a pleasure to be part of Operation Santa Clause. Each year it gets better and each year more people get involved. This year we gave treats to 394 kids from Pre-K to the 8th grade.  It is a huge undertaking.  The logistics are really something. Presents from Virginia, North Carolina and New Jersey, candy from North Carolina, Kentucky and West Virginia.  Just think that's 394 apples, oranges and tangerines, 394 pounds of candy, 394 bars of candy and 394 packs of candy.  Plus 394 toys and a lot of special toys for special kids.  But when you see the looks on their faces it's all worth the effort. One of the biggest joys for me is to watch the face of my friend Red Carroll.  Red is the mastermind behind this project.  And at 88 years young, Red works hard to put this together and is truly one of Santa's very special helpers.  Hope you enjoy these few pictures and who knows, maybe next year you will join us.
A SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL THE GOOD PEOPLE WHO DONATED AND HELPED TO MAKE THIS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION.

Putting the treats together was a big job.
We had a lot of fun doing it.
Friendships made forever.
Half way there - only 200 more bags to go !!!!!!!!!!
Loading 1 of 4 trucks to get the treats to War.
Josh is a happy Elf . . . . . .
Santa pays his Elf's in candy.
Santa gives his favorite Elf "Red" a hug.
The next six pictures speak for themselves.
Elf "Joe" was the keeper of the Magic Line.  If you went past the Magic Line Santa would dissapear.  As you see here the kids were "very" careful.
Elf "Joe "leads the group in Jingle Bells.
Now  who do you think had the most fun this day?
We hope you had a very Merry Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year.

Bless us all in 2007.

Next year try to join us, you wont regret it.  Who knows - Santa may have a bag of that good Piedmont candy for you !!!!!!!!!!
