This is the new site for the Coalwood WV Historical Society. This is the result of several months of work by a group of history and genealogy buffs who love Coalwood and want to preserve the history and the stories of Coalwood, WV. I am not going into a lot of detail on this page. Every thing you need to know is on the preserve site. The site is still under construction but we have the basics up and running. A ton of other things will be added as time goes on and people join and contribute their stories and pictures with us. We have a lot of things planned for the Society and we want each one of you to help us with the projects we have set up. This can be a very interesting project but it will take the efforts of everyone interested in Coalwood to help.
I was in Coalwood this past Thursday .You can imagine my surprise when I went to Coalwood Main and saw the new addition to the town. It really looks nice. The ladies are doing a fantastic job.

A new page was added to the C.H.S. web site: www.preservecoalwood.com . It is about the cemetery project we are currently working on. Our resident web master (Troy) has done a outstanding job putting the site together. Drop by and check the pictures out.

Vicki Gilliam and Greg Strong are really making the new park look nice.I was told as money is obtained they plan on erecting picnic shelters and additional walk ways .I tried the rocking chair and it is very comfortable.

Santa's Coalwood Elves were busy putting up the tree and decorating . I didn't get a nite picture but the decorations were impressive even in the day light.
I think the Elves were David,Rhonda, David and Jan-- GOOD JOB !!!!!
