Dear Owls,
With the leaves on the trees beginning to turn and the final school year underway for Big Creek High School, the yearbook staff is busy building a commemorative yearbook we hope you will be proud to own.
In addition to the regular pages documenting this school year, the 2010 book will contain a special alumni section (approximately sixty extra pages). This section will include all class photographs, 1932-2010, as well as other photographs and trivia related to the seventy-nine year existence of the the school. As sad as we are that our school will become part of the consolidated Riverview High School next fall, our yearbook staff is equally excited to have the opportunity to honor all Owl graduates in this way.
The response to the first email I sent out about the yearbook was overwhelming, even though I did not have many details to offer at that mailing. Now I do. The all-color book (with the exception of the black and white photographs from the early years) will cost $50, which must be paid at the time the actual order is placed.
Any time you wish, you may place your order by sending a check or money order payable to Big Creek High School to the following address:
Big Creek High School
Attn: Debbie Cline
Box 790
War, WV 24892.
I apologize that our school is unable to accept credit cards, debit cards, or Paypal orders.
In any correspondence you send to me, please include your name, mailing address, and phone number. The yearbooks will not be printed until after the school year ends and will be available in July. We will pay the shipping costs on all books that need to be mailed. Once I receive your order, I will mail you a receipt as proof of purchase.
I do perhaps need to make one clarification, as it may have a bearing on whether or not some of your purchase a yearbook. We will not be able to include the names of the graduates on the class pictures. I cannot think of a way that we could possibly get everyone identified in that many pictures, and I do not want to print an identity on some folks if we can't do it for all of them. I hope you understand.
Within the next two weeks, I will send out a call for pictures. We have separated the yearbook into decades, and we want to include photographs from those years as well as the class pictures; however, we do not have any to work with. That is where I am hoping some of you can help. If you come across a photograph from your high school days and would like for us to consider it for publication in the yearbook, keep it handy until you receive another email giving you information on how to get your pictures to me.
Lastly, some of you have asked about purchasing ad space in the yearbook. Now that the building of this yearbook is in full swing, I will email you again shortly with ad guidelines and prices.
Before I close, let me say that I have enjoyed hearing from all of you. Big Creek High School is rich in history, and each of you have played a part in the legacy it leaves behind.
Debbie
